The emerging Ownership Economy is the context for much of our Tech. It is covered in some detail under “The Poverty Story”. But below are the main points.
Today’s worldwide Ownership Economy includes millions of people who were historically excluded from ownership and participation. Our goal is to enable the expansion of business and social initiatives based on shared ownership that is central to expanding access to wealth and bypassing our existing poverty-enforcing systems.
The larger article describes the inner workings of:
- Web 2.0
- Web 3.0
- And Ethereum as an example of the Worldwide Economy
Level UP Tech is focused on:
- Expanding ownership as part of ending poverty in one generation.
- This includes ownership of our homes, our work lives, our workplaces, our retirement, our bodies, our health, our education, our creative output, our data… and our world.
- How ownership includes records, participation, and control.
- How Web3 and the Ownership Economy are developments that reflect our society’s progress toward sharing the benefits.
One Cornerstone of Societal Stability
In the context of our work to end systemic poverty the foundation for societal and personal stability is “stable records”.
If ownership of one’s:
- history,
- assets,
- education, and/or
- place in society
…ever comes under attack – then that individual and their family face a dire threat. This threat has become true destruction for too many people throughout history.
This aspect of poverty is covered in some detail under “The Green Economic Drivetrain”. It explains why control of records is so important for implementing the Degenerative Cycle and how stable records protect us from old-school systems that exploit people and the planet for profit. It gives examples of record keeping’s role in modern society. Then it describes our transition to digital record keeping – and its weaknesses, including potential loss, corruption, and manipulation, and how historic record-keeping systems were open for exploitation by the system. It describes “blockchain” – what it is, in hopefully simple terms – and how it works to create stable or immutable records. It also explains the terms: immutable, transparent, distributed, hacking-resistant, and failsafe, and how these are relevant to the Ownership Economy and our family of Level UP Apps.
